10 - 'Let's Not Split Up Again.'
General Summary
12th, The Melting EC
Mitch and Watcher followed Dosquebron down in to the depths of Lirimidium until they reached a large chamber at the waist of the Idol.
In the chamber:
The second hand of the large statue, depicting a ring of a serpent.
A second Serpent Gate, similar to the one in Askursund.
Four magical orbs, one of which (yellow) it seemed Dosquebron used to magically message someone, confirming his presence and willingness to begin some plan. Another green orb was attached to a table fitted with restraints. The blue and red orbs were not interacted with.
A desk with many documents and a bookcase.
Numerous cupboards and chests.
A brass lifesize statue of a human man, apparently missing a weapon.
Mitch and Watcher broke in to the room and confronted Dosquebron. It was revealed that Dosquebron was actually Kardeplak Keshuul and that he was working against The Custodian in some way, claiming that the Custodian did not know what he was dealing with regarding opening The Orb. Kardep apparently knew more about the Orb.
It was also revealed that Gebril Morsk was one of Kardep's identities.
Shortly in to the conversation, Two-Soul and an Akinlorian soldier entered through the Serpent Gate. Kardep ordered Two-Soul to attack the Kren'Sar crew, but due to some confusion on various disguises, Two-Soul ended up killing Kardep and barely escaped through the Gate with her life. The soldier, who appeared to be in a position of authority amoung the three, left almost immediately.
Some undead also joined the fight, defending the crew.
After the fight, the crew recovered a tome written in celestial from the fallen Kardep. Watcher took a serpent designed staff from Kardep. Mitch also took a sword from a chest. The pair then escaped back to the surface of the city.
Meanwhile:
After spending some time at The Ashen Lady, Judge and Erchyll agreed to get Narim, Urania and Molinth an audience with The Custodian, in return for payment.
Erchyll was approached by the Fiend Lulvol who gave Erchyll [something] along with another infernal dagger.
Narim spent time investigating the forgotten crystals that were being attached to the Orb according to 'Molinth' and The Custodian's plan. She was intrigued and suspicious.
Urania secured a deal with The Custodian. Lirimidium would lend their necromancy to Faephine's war effort, in return for The Fire Crystal of Fire Crystal Lagoon.
Erchyll, after receiving advice from Molinth / Nizus, decided to tell The Custodian about the infernal dagger. The Custodian agreed to allow Erchyll to stab a prisoner (who was set to be killed and then work for the city) with the infernal dagger and keep the resulting possessed being imprisoned and alive.
Back at The Ashen Lady the crew reconvened and discussed the day's events. Sindril confiscated the Serpent Staff that Watcher had found.
Someone (?) made an excellent (20+) pereception roll and noticed Nesnis and Narim trying to slip away to the kitchen without being noticed. The imp followed invisibly and saw the secret passage in an ale keg leading to a basement. After this discovery Mitch and the Imp broke in to the basement, invisibly and listened in on Nesnis and Narim's conversation. They talked of concerns regarding the Orb Project and Nesnis suggested convincing the Kren'Sar crew to bring Molinth to The Lady so that they could learn more from him.
Also in the basement, Mitch saw a number of bookcases, chests and display cases. A deck of cards in a display case was referenced as particularly dangerous. Mitch and the Imp left without being detected.
Erchyll strongly hinted to Moxiloth that there was a connection between Molinth and Nizus (the devil who had once imprisoned Moxiloth).
The crew got drunk and stayed at The Lady for the night.
13th, The Melting EC
The next day, the crew split up again. Watcher and Judge went to the Observatory to check on New Leaf's progress. When they arrived, they were greeted by Xarkon.
