05 - Elva Has Left The Building
General Summary
The crew travelled West along the Daggermotte River towards what they expected to be a Fael Tribe camp. On the way, Watcher spotted signs of a camp site near the river. Nothing of interest was discovered on inspection, and the crew moved on.
Soon after, the crew arrived at the Fael Camp of Cadence of Water. They were told that they had been attacked the last few nights by Dryads from the grove, leading them to beleive that New Leaf had fled her duties as Chittering Elva's apprentice.
The crew met Wild Deer, New Leaf's mother and the previous apprentice of Chittering Elva. She had served this role for 20 years, only returning to the tribe 5 days prior.
The crew spoke with Cadence of Water, an incredibly old Tabaxi who acted as Wise One and leader of the tribe. He lived in the central, clay walled hut of the tribe. Inside were many books, herbs and alchemical ingredients. There was a large hole in the centre of the hut, covered with a colourful fabric sheet.
Cadence would only agree to help Judge with the amulet if the crew agreed to find New Leaf and return her to her duties as Elva's apprentice.
The party were conflicted on what course of action to take, but ultimately followed the captain's decision to go and find New Leaf. Returning to the camp, they waited sometime until New Leaf arrived. After some convincing, Leaf agreed to return to Chittering Elva temporarily.
The crew hiked back to the Elder Tree. Before entering Elva's cave beneath its roots, Watcher saw that the head of the automaton had been impaled on a pike. Watcher buried the head.
Mitch, Judge and the raven began to negotiate with Elva.
The raven looked behind the curtain, seeing nothing and causing Elva's mask to fall to the floor, unanimated.
Judge detected Elemental energy gathered in the air and running through roots in the walls leading down in to the ground.
Elva began to remove the amulet and Mitch went to get New Leaf.
Mitch returned with Leaf and Watcher. Elva removed the amulet and placed it on Leaf.
Watcher was pretty pissed and attempted to attack Elva. Watcher was wrapped in corrupted vines but the crew defused the situation before an all out fight erupted.
The crew left Leaf with Elva, taking the chest of skulls with them.
Back on the The Kren'Sar Judge showed the crew the skulls. Watcher gave them a star chart to look at. The next day the crew debated attaching them to the ship (but was this actually done, I can't remember?).
Returning to the Custodian, the crew delivered Chittering Elva's Bound Tome. With some convincing, the Custodian told them that Elva lives in what used to be a druid grove, created by a being named Eressia, and that Elva probably derives much of her power from the Elder Tree under which she lives. To do so, she would probably need to remain in contact physically with it somehow.
The Custodian also mentioned that Elva's takeover of the grove involved some deal with the Fael Tribe, but he did not know any details. Whatever happened was a long time ago.

After this the crew did some shopping. Watcher saw the corpse of Tantos Zendica advertising The Ashen Lady.
Later on Watcher visited Professor Branqo's Observatory, where he found Nesnis, owner of the Ashen Lady, outside. She handed over Rurik, stating the sword was a hazard to keep in the tavern. She told Watcher to thank the rest of the crew for saving her and handed him a crossbow as a gift.
