Codia City Settlement in Star Wars: New Republic | World Anvil

Codia City

The capital city of Codia and the center of trade for this region of the galaxy.   Codia City is a sprawling, dense and meandering city. There was little to no central planning and thus streets wind between, beneath and above all manner of buildings. It is easy for outsiders to get lost if they stray from the main avenues.   The city is divided into districts that are divided by main roads. Each district is named after a major landmark or reputation. Despite this, there is little consistency in most districts.

Oasis District

The north-most of the three central districts. It was built around the oasis that first brought settlers to this location. The spring feeding the oasis has been tapped and turned into a main water source for the city. This district is heavily populated. It is well-traveled by visitors and has many hotels, fountains, and souvenir shops.

Grand Bazaar District

The middle of the central districts and heart of the city. The Grand Bazaar has existed for generations; it is a massive courtyard lined with rows upon rows of stalls. All sorts of people, natives and travelers, sell wares of all kinds. This districts is heavily populated. It is well-patrolled by security and a common place for merchants and visitors.

Uniformed Districts

The south-most of the central districts. It is the location of most of the administration and governmental buildings. The offices of the Domatran Council who reside on Codia are here. A logistics headquarters of the security forces is here. The Codia Control Tower is here as well. This district is heavily populated.

Cliff District

The furthest northwest district. Arranged on the edge of a steep decline and overlooking a large open field for several miles; the northwest road can be seen cutting through the tall grass and into the distance.

North-B

Rose District

On the northwest side of the central districts. Originally built by well-off merchants and nobles using bright red materials that showed off their wealth.

North-D

Dice and Card District

Just north of the Oasis District is a rich district with several large casinos and clubs. They prey on or provide for those who make money in the Grand Bazaar. Lights attract potential patrons day and night. This district is fairly densely populated and well-patrolled by security

This district is moderately populated and patrolled by local and corp security.

Crate District

The furthest south district. Many storage facilities and warehouses fill this district. There are many landing pads used by transports. This district is sparsely populated but still full of buildings.

Smog District

On the east of the central districts. Here are several power-plants and factories, from which steam and smoke emit.
