Table Rules

I have rules to abide by in my campaigns. They are pretty basic, but bear stating up front so everyone comes to the table with the correct expectations.

Table Rules

HAVE FUN - It's an imaginary world and you get to be someone else.
  1. Respect the Fourth Wall, no Metagaming.
  2. Play your character not yourself.
RESPECT each other and the Game Master.
  1. RPGs are a cooperative game. Not a competitive one.
  2. The Game Master worked hard to create a scenario for you to enjoy respect their time.
  3. No phones at the table, unless it's your parents or your ride.
  4. Be kind to your teammates.
OBEY THE HONOR CODE. No lying, cheating or stealing (Out of Character). The dice are your fate. Anyone caught cheating will be removed from the table.   Keep your snacks away from the play materials. More RPG characters have died to spilled Mountain Dew bottles than to the BBEG.

Player Tips

Fiction First - To act, follow the principle of fiction first: say what your character is trying to do, then figure out how you’ll do that in the system.     Don't try to win. RPGs are not about high scores and definitely not about defeating your fellow players or even the Game Master. They are about telling fun stories with your friends, embrace your character's story and use your imagination.   Don't wait until your turn to decide your action or review your abilities. Read them during another person's turn and be ready to act on yours. Everyone will appreciate you for it.
