Dreadnought Class Heavy Cruiser (Imperial Refit)

The Dreadnought served the Galactic Republic at least 80 years before the Clone Wars. Originally built to provide system patrol and defense the original Dreadnoughts were lightly armed due to the relative peace of the age. During the Clone Wars several were retrofitted with a concussion missile launcher. The Empire has steadily refit their Dreadnoughts with heavier turbolaser mounts and reworked the interior to add a hangar bay sufficient for a single TIE squadron. A shuttle is also able to dock at a docking port for the Heavy Cruiser. The ancient Heavy Cruiser is often sent to more pacified sectors allowing more modern ships like the Vindicator to hold the line in areas more dangerous.
