Manka cats were a feline predator species with a pack instinct found across the mountains and grasslands of several Core Worlds, with the largest population living in the mountains of Alderaan. With that planet's destruction, the species had had its numbers thinned considerably, although they were not yet truly endangered.

The Manka was hunted for food, safety reasons, but also because their tusks were believed to have medicinal applications.
Facial characteristics
Manka cats were also distinguishable by the thick manes of fur around their necks, and the two sets of menacing, forward-jutting tusks in their lower jaws.

- Between their strong bite, sharp claws, and powerful forelegs, the Manka cats were a hunting force to be reckoned with. One individual was capable of bringing down large animals, such as nerfs, all on their own.
