Starship Designer
Starship Designer
Prerequisites: Tech Specialist & Trained in Mechanics.
- Benefits: You can draft the designs for Starships from scratch. This process takes a minimum of 7 days and a DC 40 Mechanics check, adding 1 to the DC and 1 day to the time for every additional 10,000 credits and 150 materials of the design's final cost beyond the first 100,000 credits and 1,500 materials.
- Each day spent on the drafting process beyond the minimum of 7 reduces the DC by 2.
- Other characters Trained in the Mechanics skill may use the Aid Another action to assist your Mechanics check; if any assisting character also has the Starship Designer Feat, divide the Starship's credit and material cost by the number of characters who have this Feat (including the primary designer).
Improved Starship Designer
Prerequisites: Starship Designer, Tech Specialist & Trained in Mechanics.
- Benefits: When making Starship Modifications, you treat the work as though it were a Standard Modification or higher, even if the equipment used is of lesser quality. Additionally, you can make custom improvements to Starships. Each improvement has a base cost of 1,500 credits (multiplied by the Starship Cost Modifier) and requires a DC 20 Mechanics check.
- On a success, you may choose one of the following modifications.
- Improve Computer Systems: Increase the Vehicle's Intelligence score by +6.
- Improve Emplacement Points: You add 1 unused Emplacement Point to a Vehicle.
- Improve Hull: You add a number of Hit Points to a Vehicle equal to 1/2 its Strength score (rounded down to the nearest multiple of 10).
- Improve Hyperdrive: You can re-engineer a hyperdrive to improve its class by 1 step. The hyperdrive obeys all the restrictions of its new class.
- Improve Shields: The Shield Rating is increased by 25.
- Improve Sublight Engines: You can increase the vehicle's speed by 3.
- Improve Weapons: You grant one Vehicle Weapon a +5 Equipment bonus with Advantage on Attack rolls & Damage rolls.
- On a failed check, the modification fails; you must spend half again as much time and money to make a second attempt, and you gain a +5 bonus on your Mechanics check for each attempt after the first.
Master Starship Designer
Prerequisites: Improved Starship Designer, Tech Specialist & Trained in Mechanics.

This process takes a minimum of 3 days and a DC 30 Mechanics check, adding 1 to the DC and 1 day to the time for every additional 1,000 credits and 10 materials of the design's final cost beyond the first 3,000 credits and 50 materials.
- Each day spent on the drafting process beyond the minimum of 3 reduces the DC by 2.
- Other characters Trained in the Mechanics skill may use the Aid Another action to assist your Mechanics check; if any assisting character also has the Master Starship Designer Feat, divide the Upgrade's credit and material cost by the number of characters who have this Feat (including the primary designer).
