Melee Defense

You are trained at using your combat ability for defense as well as offense.

Melee Defense

Prerequisite: Dexterity Score: 14 & Intelligence Score: 13

  • Benefit: When you're engaged in melee combat with an enemy, you gain a +1 Insight bonus to all Defenses for each enemy you're engaged in melee combat with. Once per Encounter, you may take Disadvantage on your next Attack Roll to impose Disadvantage on an enemy you're engaged in melee combat with.

Improved Melee Defense

Prerequisites: Dexterity Score: 14, Intelligence Score: 13 & Melee Defense

  • Benefit: When you're engaged in melee combat with an enemy, you gain a +2 Insight bonus to all Defenses for each enemy you're engaged in melee combat with. Once per Encounter, as a Free Action, you may take Disadvantage on your next Attack Roll to impose Disadvantage on an enemy you're engaged in melee combat with. You can no longer be Flanked.

Master Melee Defense

Prerequisites: Dexterity Score: 14, Intelligence Score: 13 & Improved Melee Defense

  • Benefit: When you're engaged in melee combat with an enemy, you gain a +3 Insight bonus to all Defenses for each enemy you're engaged in melee combat with. Twice per Encounter, as a Reaction to having an Attack declared against you, you may take Disadvantage on your next Attack Roll to impose Disadvantage on an enemy you're engaged in melee combat with. Once per Session, as a Reaction to being targeted for an attack, you may double this bonus to your Defense against that attack. You can no longer be Flanked, or made Flat-Footed from Melee Attacks & Combat Maneuvers.

Perfect Melee Defense

Prerequisites: Dexterity Score: 14, Intelligence Score: 13, Master Melee Defense, & Commando Training

  • Benefit: When you're engaged in melee combat with an enemy, you gain a +3 Insight bonus to all Defenses for each enemy you're within half of your movement. Once per Round, as a Reaction to having an Attack declared against you, you may impose Disadvantage on that enemy. Once per Encounter, as a Reaction to being targeted for an attack, you may double this bonus to your Defense against that attack. You can no longer be Flanked, or made Flat-Footed from Melee Attacks & Combat Maneuvers.
