Melee Attack

With a melee weapon, as a Standard Action, you can strike any target in a square you can threaten. Small and Medium characters threaten the squares adjacent to them. Bigger creatures may threaten a larger number of squares, as defined by their Melee Reach. Certain melee weapons threaten more squares than just those adjacent to its wielder, as defined by its Reach.

Attack Rolls & Damage Rolls

To determine the Attack Roll for a melee attack; add your character's Base Attack Bonus, Dexterity Modifier, Weapon Upgrade Modifier, and all other miscellaneous modifiers.   To determine the Damage Roll for a melee attack add together; the weapon's Damage Dice, half your character's Hero Level rounded down, your Strength Modifier, Weapon Upgrade Modifier, and all other miscellaneous damage roll modifiers.

Full Grip Melee Weapon Damage Rolls

Certain one-handed melee weapons may be wielded with two hands, this is called a Full Grip. When rolling damage for a Full Grip weapon double your Strength Modifier bonus (if any) to the damage.   Improvised Melee Weapons Sometimes objects not crafted to be weapons can be used: chairs, bottles, crates, and so on. Because these objects are not designed for such use, characters who use Improvised Melee Weapons are treated as not proficient with them and take a -5 penalty on their attack rolls.   The GM determines the size and damage dealt by an Improvised Weapon.
