Combat Focus

Combat Focus represents the priorities your character takes in the hectic fast-paced environment in life-or-death shootouts and sword fights across the Galaxy. With four varieties to choose from; Balanced, Offensive, Defensive, & Total Defensive; it takes a Standard Action to switch between a particular combat focus.

Balanced Combat Focus

A Balanced Focus is the default focus, it provides no bonuses and inflicts no penalties.

Offensive Combat Focus

When taking an Offensive Focus you gain a +5 to Attack & Combat Maneuver rolls, +3 to Damage Rolls, and -5 to all your Defenses.

Defensive Combat Focus

When taking a Defensive Focus you take a -5 penalty on Attack & Combat Maneuver rolls, -3 to Damage Rolls, and gain a +10 bonus to your Devastating Injury Defense, +5 Circumstance bonus to your General & Combat Maneuver Defenses, +3 Circumstance bonus to your Fortitude & Reflex Defense, and a +1 Circumstance bonus to your Will Defense.

Total Defensive Focus

When taking a Total Defensive Focus you gain a +15 Circumstance bonus to your Devastating Injury Defense, a +10 Circumstance bonus to your General & Combat Maneuver Defenses, and a +5 Circumstance bonus to your Specialty Defenses. This bonus is lost if you attack (even Attacks of Opportunity) while it is active.

• If you do make an attack while using a Total Defensive Focus, you take a -7 to the first Attack Roll & -10 to the first Damage Roll made.
