Session 02: On Felucia

General Summary

After a brief stop on Alderaan, Droshahn took the opportunity to purchase some last-minute supplies, including a bow and several specialty arrows. With preparations complete, the heroes boarded the Banshee and jumped to hyperspace. After several days of travel, they emerged over the jungle world of Felucia—only to come under immediate attack from an Imperial Star Destroyer. Dodging turbolaser fire, Captain Okeefe expertly dove the ship into the atmosphere. The Banshee made a rough but survivable landing deep in the dense, fungal canopy of Felucia’s vast jungle, taking minor damage but remaining hidden from Imperial scanners.   The heroes set off on foot, trekking through the colorful and treacherous jungle toward the Imperial prison. Midway through the day, they were ambushed by a group of Felucian tribals who mistook them for Imperial agents. A brief skirmish broke out, but the conflict was quickly interrupted by the arrival of Vazus Mandrake, a local human who served as both a guide and translator. Vazus calmed the Felucians, explaining the heroes’ intentions. Once welcomed into the village, the heroes shared their mission: to rescue Admiral Gilder Varth. Vazus agreed to help and suggested a Felucian guide escort them to the facility.   Before the group could finalize their plans, a Scout Trooper was spotted escaping on a speeder bike. The heroes sprang into action, mounting native kybucks that proved more than capable of keeping up with the trooper through the dense terrain. Marrik managed to close the gap and fired a precise shot, destroying the bike and sending the Scout crashing into a mushroom stalk. The trooper was captured and brought back to the village for interrogation. Under pressure, he revealed valuable intelligence: the prison was lightly guarded, relying on Felucia’s harsh terrain for defense, and a hidden vent at the rear could allow covert entry. Vazus asked the heroes to plant a thermal detonator in the facility to ensure it would be destroyed once the mission was complete.   The team made their way to the hidden vent, pried it open, and slipped inside the facility undetected. Navigating the interior, they were faced with a choice: enter the medical bay, the communications center, or the prison block. Prioritizing the element of surprise, they chose to disable communications. Inside, they encountered a squad of well-trained comm officers who put up a strong fight, but the heroes ultimately prevailed. A search of the area revealed troubling news: Admiral Varth was scheduled to be transferred into the custody of Inquisitor Draco, who was expected to arrive on Felucia within the next twelve hours.   Wasting no time, the heroes moved on to the prison block. After defeating the guards and a pair of warden droids, they freed Admiral Varth along with three other prisoners. With the mission's primary objective complete, they planted a thermal detonator in the prison’s command room. On their way back to the vent, however, they discovered that Imperial reinforcements—including an AT-ST and a detachment of stormtroopers—had surrounded the rear entrance.   Just as things seemed grim, Captain Okeefe contacted the team: repairs to the Banshee were complete, and she was ready for extraction. The heroes made their way to the roof, hoping for a clean getaway, but were intercepted by the facility's captain, a squad of stormtroopers, and two monstrous creatures—bipedal alien beasts with bone swords grafted to their arms. The ensuing battle was brutal and nearly cost the heroes their lives, but through grit and determination, they managed to overcome their foes.   With no time to spare, the Banshee arrived and extracted the team from the rooftop. As they lifted off, the Imperial Star Destroyer locked on and attempted once again to stop their escape. But this time, the Banshee didn’t falter. Dodging the assault with skill, Captain Okeefe made the jump to hyperspace, taking the heroes and Admiral Varth to safety.
