Session 01: The Traitor's Gambit
General Summary
The heroes arrived at Sel Zonn Station, an XQ2 space station in orbit around Brentaal. Disembarking from a passenger ship, they found themselves in a section of the station designated for aliens. Eager to relax, they made their way to Gundark’s Cantina, where they ordered drinks and tried to unwind.
Their respite was short-lived. An injured woman stumbled into the cantina, catching the heroes’ attention. She introduced herself as Maya, an Alderaanian operative, explaining that she had been injured by stormtroopers and needed their help. As they took in her plea, two Imperial operatives and two stormtroopers entered the cantina, clearly searching for her. The heroes leapt into action, fending off the Imperial agents in a brief but intense skirmish.
Maya led the heroes to a nearby safe house she had prepared. Taking a moment to patch their wounds, the group listened as Maya offered them a job: recovering a package from a local crime boss named Switch. Although she was vague about who had hired her, Kira's curiosity was piqued. The name "Switch" seemed odd, and she speculated it might be an alias, perhaps even for a droid.
As the group discussed the mission, Zia and Alpha engaged in a tense private conversation. Alpha, a Clone from the Republic, and Zia, a droid from the Separatists, found their past allegiances creating friction between them.
Undeterred, the group traveled to Deep Storage Bay V14, where they encountered Switch—a droid and the local crime boss. Switch agreed to release the cargo for a thousand credits, but before a deal could be finalized, a Chevin gangster named Ganga Lor barged in with his thugs. A fierce battle broke out, and the heroes dispatched Ganga, sending his men fleeing. Grateful for their help, Switch reduced the price to just 100 credits, which the heroes paid using credits found on Ganga.
While preparing to collect the cargo, Kira accessed the station’s computer systems, attempting to delay any potential Imperial response. Her efforts revealed that the Empire had flagged their activity, but she also uncovered the truth about the cargo—it was an Alderaanian spy who had frozen himself in carbonite to escape Imperial scrutiny.
The heroes proceeded to the Blue Deck, the affluent section of Sel Zonn Station, where humans dominated, and the few aliens present were often met with disdain. Arriving at the docking bay, they saw stormtroopers unloading the carbonite block. Acting quickly, they launched an ambush, engaging the Imperials in a fierce firefight. Emerging victorious, they stole a 64-Y Swift 3 Repulsorsled and made their escape.
As blaster fire erupted around them, a Baudo-class Star Yacht named the Banshee, piloted by Captain Okeefe, swooped in to rescue them. With Imperial forces firing in vain, the heroes escaped.
Three days later, they arrived in Alderaan, where they were escorted to the royal palace. There, Senator Bail Organa personally thanked them for their efforts. He then requested their help with another mission—traveling to Felucia to rescue ex-Admiral Gilder Varth, a former informant who had been captured and imprisoned in a top-secret Imperial facility.
The heroes agreed, spending a day in Alderaan’s bustling markets to gather supplies before embarking on their next adventure.
