Vibrosword

While most cultures have moved beyond the use of bladed weapons for general use and protection, there are still some for whom intricate swordplay and the appreciation of a finely crafted blade are ingrained parts of their martial heritage. For these cultures, and for anyone who appreciates the value of a solid, wellbuilt sword, there is the vibrosword.
These weapons are a good compromise of form and function, combining the reach and weight of a traditional sword with the ultrasonic technology found in vibroknives and vibro-axes. They are produced in a variety of styles to meet the tastes and martial abilities of their users, and range from cheap, mass-produced pieces to handmade blades with ornate decoration that cost a year’s wages.
While not as powerful as the legendary lightsaber, vibroswords are still remarkably effective weapons that can cut through nearly any material and have the benefit of not requiring their users to be highly trained Jedi Knights.
