Czerka Arms

Previously referred to as the Czerka Corporation, Czerka arms now stands as one of the largest Arms Manufacturers in the Galaxy and has become a household name. Czerka produced some energy weapons, but found a niche in the manufacture of non-blaster personal weapons and "non-standard" munitions, such as flame projectors, vibroblades, and slugthrowers.
Czerka Arms has always had a sordid reputation, and was long suspected of laundering money into the Outer Rim by the Coruscant Security Force.
The company gained a reputation as an unethical opportunist due to many of it's past business ventures such as the Wookiee slave trade and it's aggressive mining operations, both of which ended in failure.
Czerka Arms made heavy use of slave labor and employed extensive mechanisms to both prevent slave escapes and recapture those who did, as well as slave revolts. In the past Czerka was noted to have diversified businesses ranging from consumer food products to military weapons. It even owned multiple star systems, employed several billion individuals and had representation in the Republic Senate.
Czerka reputation only grew as Czerka was a sponsor of the Hutt-run death game, Huttball, supplying many of the death traps used in the popular sport. The company also made credits through un regulated swoop racing and podracing. One of Czerka's most foolhardy projects was the creation of the HK-51 assassin droid, modeled after HK-47. A large shipment was purchased by the Sith Empire, but disappeared somewhere over Belsavis some time ago.
It was not uncommon to hear of Czerka's involvement in some assassination attempt, political uprising or other inhumane activities. After the Old Republic's defeat of the Sith, Czerka, perhaps wanting to disassociate itself from its past, changed its name to Czerka Arms.
During the Clone Wars it was often said the Czerka Corporation was nearly as powerful as the Galactic Senate itself.
Today Czerka has cemented its position as the third-largest weapons manufacturer in the galaxy, superseded only by BlasTech and Merr-Sonn.
With such a long legacy many do not know the origins of the company and it has been said that Czerka is thousands of years old, and rumored by some to be older than the Old Galactic Republic.
