Yaga Minor

Yaga Minor is a terrestrial planet located in the Outer Rim Territories.

It is the political and industrial center of the territories controlled by Fleet Admiral Myrko Kerrith's Imperial Remant and currently one of the most heavily fortified planets in the galaxy.

It's major starshipbuilding facilities serve the crucial function of maintaining and repairing Task Force 163's capital ships as well as constructing starfighters and imperial warships.

A council of imperial governeurs and military leaders rules from Yaga Minor's capital city Yavvitiri, but may still be overruled by Fleet Admiral Kerrith, who due to the effects of martial law serves as de-facto autocrat of the imperial remnant.

History

After the rise of the Empire, the local population of Yagai was quickly subjugated and enslaved. The Empire improved the shipyards above Yaga Minor and shipped Yagai technicians across the galaxy to help maintain the vast Imperial Fleet.
During the Imperial Period, Yaga Minor became an important Outer Rim trade hub and the Empire began fortifying the planet as a result of this. When the Empire collapsed in 5 ABY and most of the Core Worlds had fallen to the newly formed Republic some of the imperial Navy's remaining ships fled to the Yaga system were they were reinforced by Flett Admiral Myrko Kerrith's Task Force, that had finally returned from their secret assignment.
Kerrith quickly assumed command of the battle-scarred fleet and organized the defense of Yaga.
Utilizing the static defenses of the system as well as clever tactics the Fleet Admiral was not only able to hold his ground against the incoming New Republic but also to deter them from attacking again.

Some time later, after Task Force 163 managed to bring a dose of stability to the fractured imperial territories of the Outer Rim, Kerrith focused his attention on rebuilding a stable government centered around Yaga Minor.
He formed a council of gouverneurs with it's seat in Yaga Minor's capital city Yavvitiri and started to relinquish some of his power to them.
Today most of imperial administration is done through the council.
