Csilla

A frozen planet set in a perpetual ice age, Csilla is far removed from most of the galaxy due to numerous spacial anomalies blocking easy travel to the system. One of the central worlds for the Sith Empire, the planet provides an excellent training ground for teaching soldiers survival techniques and how to combat attrition. Covered in snow and ice, this planet is the native homeworld of the Chiss.

Climate

Most of the planet is covered in thick sheets of snow, dotted with various frozen lakes and glaciers.

Lifeforms

Non-Sentient

Several native species populate frozen wastes and covered seas of Csilla. Many smaller mammals live within complex underground dens, but there are several topside organisms including:   Beldon - A Giant whale-like species, beldons are floating sacs that filter the airborne algae species across the skyscape - they produce the highly sought resource known as Tibenna Gas.   Velker - A flying manta creature, velkers often hunt for beldons in packs. They have razor sharp teeth and can emit an electric pulse that can stun their prey as well as droids and smaller crafts.   Rawwk - Mammavian carnivores that hunt for airfish and other small prey, they form a symbiotic relationship with beldons and create nests upon their backs.

Sentient

Human - The predominant species on Bespin, humans run the more administrative and service positions on the planet. Ensuring that the habitat stations run smoothly and efficiently, they also run the various leisure spots across the planet.     Ugnaught - Often seen working in the foundries and refineries, the ugnaught population are the blue collar workers of the world. Several lower habitat platforms were constructed at the insistence of ugnaught leaders to allow private areas for families to live and commune.

History

One of the more recently colonised planets, Bespin was fully surveyed in 20,982 R.Y. after a failed Czerka operation tried to capture and transport beldons to other gas giants. Abandoning the planet altogether after the economic disaster, it was later claimed in a joint-proposal between ugnaught colonists and human industrialists looking for a new place with promising trade goods. Funded by several human investors and built with the blood, sweat, and tears of several ugnaught tribes - the Bespin colonies have proven to be a valuable addition to the Republic economy providing numerous materials required for large scale laser and starship construction.

Notable Settlements

Cloud City

The original platform constructed on the planet, the habitat came as a suprising success to the Galactic Republic. Thanks to the efforts of master ugnaught engineers, what many thought was a fool's errand turned into an economic boom for the sector, bringing in much needed commerce and trade for the inhabitants. Originally planned as a major refinery, most of cloud city has been retrofitted in recent years as a commerce hub and vacation spot for the more wealthy citizens. With most industrial work delegated to peripheral platforms, the ratio of ugnaught to humans severely lowered on the complex, with most choosing to live in Ugnograd instead of the lower areas of Cloud City.

Ugnograd

The main lower platform on Bespin, Ugnograd houses most of the Ugnaught population on the planet. An amalgamation of forges, marketplaces, and housing complexes the platform is a self-contained biosphere maintained by its own governing body. Several nearby island nodules contain green spaces including both recreational parks and farming areas. Due to the heavier atmosphere in this area, most other races require respiration equipment to enjoy regular life.
