Senator Aliric Roswell
Senator Roswell has represented Ord Mantell in the Galactic Senate for 12 years. He campaigned during the darkest days of the Great Galactic War and made promises about keeping Ord Mantell safe from the horrors of the war. This platform was coupled with progressive plans to help reduce Republic influence on Mantellian laws. This dog-whistle to the less savory elements of the population put him over the top.
He has spent his time in power to follow through on those promises. He actively lobbied against a Republic Navy shipyard being place in the Bright Jewel Sector. He was unable to get Fort Garnik shut down, but Garnik has been denied upgrades required to keep it state of the art. His high morals have prevented him from even making token efforts on trying to limit Republic influence on social laws (e.g. slavery and drug smuggling). Personally he wants those trades shut down on his planet.
As he approaches the end of his term he wants to find a new position where he can wield power but, more importantly, cash in on the lifetime of connections he has made. He wants to retire in comfort.
