Type 12 Polycyclic warp core

The type 12 Polycyclic core was developed as an attempt to miniaturize and improve the previous type 9 tricyclic core used on the intrepid class. with the federation developing more ships of smaller size but with systems such as weapon having much higher power requirements and the success of the defiant's type 7 warp core, the Type 12 was quickly prototyped and tested for deployment in vessels during the dominion war, but never saw implementation do to efficiency and space concerns, while each individual core is capable of producing 4000 terradynes of power, the cores are design to function in tandem with each other providing a synchronized pulse of power producing nearly 8000 terradynes of power in a twin configuration as seen above.
