The Ascension of the Paragon

Written by Janto

In 27924, the Paragon led an army that repelled a Pezzlian invasion of the Commonwealth. Then she slew the great white dragon on the Peak of Mount Shar-Kazgoth and rescued the towns of the north. It cost her her life and she was made a holy paragon (demigod) by Huvoi.

Summary

A Pezzlian army secured the aid of a white dragon from the southern Netherwastes of Pezzlio. This controversial ally divided the opinions of Pezzlian commanders, but it was hoped that the dragon would give the Pezzlians an advantage on a land invasion.   The Pezzlians and the dragon pushed up through the Shifting Lands, decimating the Commonwealth forces. The Pezzlians then crossed over into the southern Commonwealth, planning to march on the capital of Vomerro. The Patriarch sent his paladins south to head off the invasion, including his champion, a female warrior called the Paragon. She assumed command of the broken Commonwealth army after its generals were slain and successfully routed the Pezzlians.   After the defeat, the white dragon fled to the snowy northwestern mountains of the Commonwealth. The Paragon of Huvoi pursued, chasing it to the peak of Shar-Kazgoth. In a massive battle, she succeeded in killing the dragon, and herself, in a magical explosion. Their bodies were consumed and the Commonwealth saved. The Patriarch declared that she had ascended and her form was to be venerated through the land.

Historical Basis

The Paragon's body was consumed by her defeat of the Ancient White Dragon.

The account is celebrated widely in the Commonwealth.
