It's unclear if Hextor was an ancient ranger who achieved divinity, or if he is a natural god who likes to take the form of a ranger. There are many stories of travelers meeting a stranger in the wilds who turns out to be Hextor. He is the god worshiped by rangers and druids, although he also has traditional clerics who often serve as custodians of some piece of land or community.
