Weapon: Energy Rifle

Upgraded from energy blasters, energy rifles simply perform the same basic function with a much higher rate of fire. These weapons are also standard issue for Leray agents who have proven themselves in the field. In combat, these weapons can quickly and painlessly wear down one's HP over time, but MP consumption will be faster too.
Energy rifles when fired condense Leray magic into non-elemental magical spheres that also carry enough weight and force to inflict physical blunt damage on impact. The gun itself cannot be merged with elemental damaging auras, but experienced wielders can sometimes change the elemental properties of the ammunition fired from such machines.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The interior of the weapon collects energy either from the veil or from the user's personal aura, and channels that energy into an internal micro-Leray crystal, amplifying that energy into a sphere with a destructive payload. The exterior of the weapon contains strips that light up when that energy is charged into the gun, giving it a beautiful glowing appeal when used in battle.

Significance

Energy rifles are excellent long range weapons that quickly degrade a target's HP with sucessive hits against them.

Energy Rifles are fairly common, but still hard to adapt use in battle given what little adaptability it provides in Leray battles. Because they rely on MP energy from the veil to fire magic instead of using bullets, their upkeep is cheap, the weapons easy to produce.
