Leray License

Leray License cards are required by law for Leray wielders to use their magic for combat purposes or to conduct Leray battles. A license in Sprawn Valley is a hybrid component that merges cheap metallic sheets with an invisible integrated LCD display, and an installed microchip that can interact with the natural and digital laws set out through the official Leray veil. This enables the card's stats and current credit balance to be updated in real time digitally despite the appearances of using no technology. Leray license cards are intelligent, capable of determining many attributes about a wielder while using integrated security to block unauthorized transactions between other card holders. All of the electronic and magic-monitoring technology relies on the Leray veil's constant connection to function, with a backup micro-capacitor that only lasts for five minutes.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The invisible digital data network inside of the Leray veil works with these licenses for monitoring purposes used in battles or in credit transactions. This digital system is responsible for preventing certain exploits from being executed, such as illegal set terms for reward/spoil systems, or the illegal theft of credits between one license card and another.

Significance

By transforming the currency of Sprawn Valley into something more digital, the use of copper, silver, and gold has been saved, while the license cards make transport of this money both easy and safe. The cards prove the difference in credentials whether one is allowed to battle or take part in basic commerce (as a citizen). License cards can also monitor penalty strikes to wielders who officially refuse a challenge, while monitoring the amounts of monetary wins and losses for those official battles. They can in effect be used as a means to prove that another wielder cheated in a battle through certain means, and they may be used to control whether a wielder is allowed or unauthorized to conduct certain battles, while credential information may be stored as permanent meta-data.

Leray License cards are very easy to make, but they are only handed out to Leray wielders. Similar technology using and monitoring credit balances for other citizens also exist and are common, rather a requirement to take part in commerce and prove citizenship status.
