Damage Eater

Damage Eater is a Leray-based status effect that relates not to people, but rather clothing or armor that was specifically crafted for magical combat. Most armor with the damage eater status effect is metallic or simply overpowered, incentivizing wielders to purchase the tough looking armor for the tradeoff that such armor is not protected by the Leray Veil. For example, the Warmonger Armament Type 2 is known for having this status effect. Damage Eater does not mean that the armor is unprotected by the veil, but rather that a thin magical aura to the armor converts most of the HP damage the wearer is about to sustain, and instead converting that to damage done specifically to the armor. This effect dramatically increases the degradation rate of such armor through combat, while dramatically reducing HP damage done to the wearer in which the armor would naturally not protect them. Most armors like these are designed to be worn over existing outfits.

Causes

This status effect to armor is magical in nature, but is an intentional design, offered to increase the level of potential battle strategies, and to make more use of the Armor Protector spell.

Prognosis

Eventually, the armor will fall apart until nothing is left. Once this happens, the armor cannot be restored, but the gathered parts can be recycled into raw materials.
