WWDitC Ch. VII: Bookkeeping

General Summary

Excerpts from The Malkavian's itinerary, dated 1/3/94 - 1/7/94:
  1/3/94 - Monday
  • 8pm: Attend council meeting at Elysium to discuss the Anarch situation (they don't have a leader because Florence is dead and that's a problem according to Rosalita). Some people want to kick them all out of the city, some want to wait for them to tear themselves apart, some want to give them a chance to redeem themselves and come back into the fold. I like the latter idea.
  • 9:30pm: Had to wait to speak with the University of Washington Coterie, Wilton Wither intercepted me and spent some time being quite threatening to the group. They were happy to meet to meet with me later this weekend, I will make sure the staff has everything in pristine condition for their arrival.
  • 11:47pm: De Vermiis Mysteriis is still floating 6.5" (16.5 cm) off the table. Glowing persists, but not enough to upset my sleep.
  1/4/94 - Tuesday
  • 7:00pm: Oversaw new shipment of books, a fantastic selection of folios from the 17th-century English theater! Shakespeare is divine, but it is always good to spend time with demigods like Webster and Middleton
1/5/94 - Wednesday
  • 9:00pm: A messy feeding day unfortunately. Michael has already sent out postings to all the job boards, a replacement shouldn't hard to find.
  • 11:00pm: Rostya Belov stopped by to inspect De Vermiis, currently floating 6" (15.2 cm) off the table. Our Tolstoy vs. Dostoyevksy argument lasted three hours again, at the end of the night he mentioned a meeting with young Alex to discuss a strange flashlight. Aren't all flashlights strange?
1/6/94 - Thursday
  • 8:45pm: Noticed a strange young woman wandering around outside the bookstore after closing hours, Michael had to shoo her away when she started looking for a way to unlock the door. He spoke with a barista at the cafe across the street, who told him that this girl had been prowling around the neighborhood for several days.
1/7/94 - Friday
  • 10:00pm: Had wonderful meeting with the University of Washington Coterie, they all proved very excited and eager to investigate the book! Daphne appeared frustrated and distracted, maybe she needs a Michael of her own so she never has to worry about anything. Alex was the most engrossed in the book, encouraging me to explore it in ways I hadn't even thought of! Despite being an updated edition of the Ludvig Prinn's original manuscript, this copy of De Vermiis Mysteriis contained some supernatural connection to the original editions. Much like how the blood can run deep in families, the ink can run deep between printings. Amazing! The University of Washington Coterie will hold onto the book for another couple weeks to study it further, I hope they have fun with it.
