WWDitC Ch. II - In the Parks, Coffee Shops, and Lonely Parties

General Summary

From the Folk Singer's Journal
November 1 - 4, 1993
I intended to give my newly-embraced brood some time to adjust to their new lives before taking them on another outing this Friday, but it appears that these thin-bloods are quite industrious on their own. According to my informant they took little time gathering information, negotiating truces with rival kindred, and slaking the hunger with their first hunts.   I'm pleased to know that Hector has settled his disagreement with Florence and her Anarchs, having returned the item he stole from them in his past life. The Anarchs would naturally be suspicious of anybody who affiliates with the Camarilla such as myself, but should my little coterie keep its hunting grounds within the University of Washington's borders then there should be little need for conflict between them and the Anarchs.   As lovely as she is, this group may have to worry more about Rosalita and the power she holds over their fates. I tried to be polite during the gala on Halloween, but it appears that Rosalita revealed her position as Sheriff of Seattle and explaining her powers to dispatch with any threats to the masquerade in vivid detail. Despite knowing about their thin-blood lineage, Rosalita seems content to have my little coterie as informants and peacekeepers in the northern part of town. Who they inform on is their decision to make.   And so a new peace has been forged throughout the neighborhoods of Seattle: the Long Shadow's Camarilla hold court in the city's downtown center and tourist traps, the Anarchs lord over all of the city's greenways from the cemetaries of Volunteer Park, the Malkavian sits in his ivory tower at Ophelia's Books in Fremont, and my new coterie now feeds from the tired students of the University of Washington. The situation could always change if Rosalita ever outed the Thinbloods or if Hector does something new to upset the Anarchs, but for now this delicate arrangement will last long enough for my plans to be set in motion.

The secrets will be revealed and the masquerade within this masquerade will shatter, but for the time being my new thin-bloods continue to impress me with every passing day. They visited the Malkavian on Monday to collect more books about their newfound existence, Ophelia and Daphne poring over De Vermiis Mysteriis and learning of ways to recreate the powers of older kindred. Hector has already gone about forming his own personal herd in less than half a week, and his restraint when feeding with Ophelia must be applauded since neither fed too deeply from the hungover college student to cause him any irreparable harm. Alexander has found his own methods for slaking the hunger be it bags of blood or stray raccoons, I hope he has the appetite for the things I have planned this fall. I do not make mistakes, and by the end of this week I expect see my gamble to start paying off.

Character(s) interacted with

  • Florence Garcia - Head of Seattle's Anarchs, a group that does not like to be trifled with
  • Rosalita Lee - Sheriff of Seattle, I suppose I've always had a thing for powerful women
  • The Malkavian - So friendly, so lonely, it appears he'll be a reliable source of information for my coterie in the months to come.
  • Michael - one of The Malkavian's ghouls kept in a perpetual state of exhaustion
  • Oliver - Daphne's romantic partner, it'll be amusing to see how long that lasts
  • Jenna - I expect she will have to start running the radio station by herself more and more often as Ophelia's kindred duties continue to accumulate
