Eternal Song
The eternal song is performed by elves on the starry lake in the starry forest, on top of the plateau in south-east Zang to worship the one God, which they call The Maker.
That song consists of multiple voices, which are continuously improvised. Most are non-textical harmonic voices, but sometimes there is a main voice, which sings of the singer's personal relation to The Maker or something else, that is on their mind.
It is their coming-of-age ritual, all elves get a certain date assigned to travel to the starry lake and contribute to that song for a longer period of time. In that period the assigned young elf gets to sing the main voice and leads the others. They get their time assigned at about 40 years of age and are considered adults after that. To ensure that the song actually never ends, quite an ammount of elves are professional singers, which means they are assigned to sing continuosly every day for several hours until their retirement. To be a singer is considered an incredibly honored job.
