Aubree Moore
Aubree Moore was born in the waning years of the Last War, the only child of missionaries devoted to the Sovereign Host. Her earliest memories are a blur of wagons and prayers, of her parents’ gentle voices carrying Boldrei’s wisdom across the patchwork parishes of Thrane. Before she was ten, those wandering days ended when her family settled in Breland, drawn there by the distant call of kin and the looming shadow of war.
Growing up in Breland, Aubree learned both resilience and adaptability, finding her place at the crossroads of tradition and turmoil. At eighteen, seeking to honor both her Brelish home and the faith of her ancestors, she enlisted as a soldier. The war swept her away, as it did so many, and the girl with bright eyes and simple hopes soon found herself in blood and mud, serving on the front lines.
Her devotion and sharp mind caught the attention of her commanders. Within a year, Aubree became a military chaplain, carrying Boldrei’s blessing to the wounded and weary. She comforted the dying, steeled the hearts of the living, and sometimes—when orders demanded—steeled herself to do things she would later struggle to forgive. The horrors she witnessed, and the choices she made in those years, left indelible marks. There are things she cannot speak of, not even in prayer, and nights when she wakes cold with memory.
When the Treaty of Thronehold was signed and the guns fell silent, Aubree was honorably discharged. For her outstanding service—courage in battle, mercy in hardship—she was offered a rare gift: the right to choose her next post as a Vassal of Boldrei. Aubree chose Skerritburg, the rugged border-village where her mother was born, a place she knew only through fireside stories and a single faded sketch.
Now, years later, Aubree Moore is the Prefect of Boldrei and the spiritual leader of Skerritburg. She tends to the hearths and hopes of her people from the Sanctuary of Tenacity—a temple-fortress that stands as both beacon and bulwark against the wilds of Wardford County. In her, the villagers find both priestess and protector: a fierce blue gaze in troubled times, a quiet presence beside the sickbed or in the marketplace, a guide whose own scars make her gentle with others.
Aubree works closely with Samdar, the Sheriff of Wardford County. Together they keep a fragile peace, balancing old wounds and new beginnings, faith and justice. In the aftermath of the Last War, Aubree’s greatest act of courage has become her daily work: to help Skerritburg believe that peace—and forgiveness—are worth fighting for.
