Nymph

Nymphs sprout from the land itself, where life thrives among the wilderness. Bonded the the natural world, nymphs acts as guardians and tenders, caring for the beings they share territory with and protecting them from outsiders. As embodiments of nature, wild beings often defer to them and heeds their instructions, instinctively understanding that they are in the presence of a caretaker.    Nymphs are guileful and sneaky, capable of moving unseen in their home with ease. As such, they often know intruders are there before the intruders realize they are in nymph territory. Those who respect the nymphs' territories find them to often be charming, welcoming and very social. Those who come to exploit their land find themselves assailed on every front, as the nymph sets up ambushes and traps.   Nymphs do not fight in the open if they can avoid it, relying on trickery to control the battle. This should not be confused for cowardice and a nymph pushed into the open will fight with ferocious abandon.

Basic Information

Anatomy

The bodies of nymphs are made of the naturally available materials fused into a semi-organic body. Depending on where they spring forth, nymphs bond with different materials. Forest nymphs will have bodies composed of wood and leaves, while water nymphs will be composed of smooth stone, algae and water. Their bodies are usually arranged in a bipedal form with two legs and two arms, sometimes with characteristics that makes them seem gendered, but it can vary. Due to their partially elemental body, nymphs are tough and hard to injure, though occult energies can slip around this and disrupt their very core. They can produce from their bodies sharp fragment, referred to as cuttings, which they can use as weapons in defense of their territory. These cuttings are covered in the nymph's toxins and can be shaped before throwing depending on the current needs. Nymphs also naturally grow a protective covering reminiscent of clothing, called a cloak. They can choose to gift this cloak to someone else, growing a new one over time. Such cloaks are inherently magical and highly prized.

Genetics and Reproduction

Nymphs spring forth from surges of primal energy where life flourishes. The closest they come to reproducing is maintaining the health of these areas, increasing the chances of new nymphs sprouting. Despite this, they are very sensual and lively beings and they are fully capable of engaging in intercourse with whomever they desire.
