Mountainkeeper Roc

In most cases, when a roc is born it is a mountainkeeper roc. They are the most common of their kind, though even then a rare sight. They tend to stay in the wilderness, settling on the mountaintops they take their name after, though more than willing to share with other sapient species as long as they show respect. These rocs rarely demand obedience, just common courtesy.   Personalitywise, they tend to be ambivilant on many subjects and prefer to let the world flow by. Some do develop their own personal interest which they pursue, as a way to fill out time when they aren't resting or hunting. These can range from collecting specific items to investing their time in a local community which they attempt to help. Given their power, this help is often succesful and some rocs have become deity-like figures to the settlements they protect.   If engaged in combat, rocs prefer to get physical rather than using magic, usually starting off with a terrifying dive that lends their strike fearsome power. If that alone doesn't kill their prey, ripping it apart with their viciously sharp talons will usually do it. Only if the target is obviously tough, or proves to be during their engagements, will theystart using more advanced tactics.
