Jousting Armor

Jousting armor was developed by human armorers supplying knights, slowly tweaking classic plate armor to better serve their clientele. It's association eventually made the jousting armor a mark of knighthood, awarded to those who demonstrate the virtues expected of their station.
The armor combines defense and mobility, offering all the defense of plate armor while also allowing the wearer full rotation of their limbs. This enables the wearer to pull of manouvers that would be too restricted with ordinary plate armor. Many knights use it to better adjust their shields or make sudden adjustments on attacks mid-swing. All of these can be essential in deciding the outcome of a battle.
However, the armor was designed with mounted combat in mind and the armor has one notable flow. It is rather top-heavy and without a mount to offer support, the wearer can risk being knocked over, the armors weight usddenly working against them.

Manufacturing process

The armor plates are forged and assembled, with soft padding added to the inside.

Significance

Jousting armors are often granted to human knights who have shown excellence, be that in combat or on the tourney grounds. It is thus seen as a symbol of a champion of the realm and affords the wearer great respect among humans.
