Demon of Curiosity

A desire to know, to learn, to expand one's horizons. Some would say that it is the necessary ingredient for a society to evolve. Those who's hearts yearn for knowledge can ignite a flame in the Ether, giving rise to a demon of curiosity.   These demons seek to learn, always hungering for new information and insights. They seek to ignite the same hunger for knowledge in others, encouraging people to seek info. This desire for knowledge is often highly amoral and not restrained to academics. Demons of curiosity are notorious for their habit of spying on others, if nothing else just to know what they're doing and are eager members of the local rumor mill. They're also not well acquainted with personal space, often seeing strangers as bundles of new experiences to acquaint themselves with. Older demons of curiosity can usually restrain their impulses, mostly out of pragmatic concerns.   Demons of curiosity are often seen equipped with magical spears, called prodding spears for the demon's habit of using it as part of their investigations. Not only are these spears magical and can be called to the demon's hand with a though, they can also transform into magnifying glass, measuring tape or any other tool they need.   Combat is just another experience for them and one they'll happily engage in. They are far from harmless, using their analytical minds and vast stores of information to accurately assess enemy weaknesses and exploit them. The only real defense against this is surprising the demon with something they've never encountered before. And the older the demon, the less likely that is to happen.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Demons of curiosity have a bipedal body with two arms. Their limbs and body are long and flexible, with extra joins compared to a human. Even their fingers and toes have many extra joints. These are all very flexible and the demon can squeeze itself into smaller spaces with ease. They possess a long tail which is dexterous enough to serve them as a third hand. These limbs allow the demon to easily climb across most surfaces. They have robust immune systems that offers them some protection from poison and diseases, which is good since they'll happily lick and taste just about anything as part of their inquisitiveness.

Genetics and Reproduction

Demons of curiosity do not reproduce, though they might encourage enough curiosity to spawn another of their kind. They are capable of intercourse though and are more than happy to engage with the subject, both to gain new experiences and educate others.

Growth Rate & Stages

A newly born demon of curiosity immediately begins examining, taste, feel and just stare an anything within the vicinity, feeding their intense curiosity. Anyone they meet will be bombarded with questions while being poked and prodded, as the demon has absolutely no inborn sense of personal space. As they grow and gain layers to their personality, they learn to temper their curiosity with caution, to plan their steps to acquire the new knowledge they crave and to organise others that they may teach them and invoke in them a spark of curiosity.

Ecology and Habitats

Demons of curiosity, like most demons, are very urbane. Many find themselves at home at schools, universities, libraries and similar, as they tend to attract people with curiosity, enough to sate the supernatural hunger of the demon many times over. As demons of curiosity are natural teachers, many such people also value the services of such demons.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Demons of curiosity feed both by satisfying their curiosity and by others doing the same. The latter is more nourishing and so demons of curiosity seek to encourage others to be curious. Depending on the individual demon, they may start their own schools, book clubs or spy rings, the better to attract people who likes learning.
