The Quartermaster
The Quartermaster plots the ship's course, relying on knowledge of nautical charts and a study of weather and sea conditions. A reliable quartermaster tends to have a high Wisdom score, as well as proficiency with navigator's tools and the Nature skill.
The Quartermaster handles logistics aboard the ship, supporting the other crewmembers in their roles. On the Quartermaster's turn, they can take one of the actions listed below. Each action has a number of skills or tools associated with it, representing the different methods that a Quartermaster might use to achieve the desired result. Depending on the result of the skill check, the Quartermaster gains a support die.

Adjust Rigging
Athletics, Sleight of Hand, land or water vehicles
You make adjustments to the ship's rigging, making it easier for the Captain to steer it through wildspace. Make the skill check and grant the Captain the corresponding support die. During the Captain's turn, they can roll the support die and add the result to the next Pilot check they make during that turn.
Read Wildspace Currents
Nature, Survival, Arcana, Perception, navigator's tools
You read the wildspace currents that surround your ship, guiding the Captain's movement. Make the skill check and grant the Captain the corresponding support die. During the Captain's turn, they can roll the support die and add the result to the next Pilot check they make during that turn.
Bolster Crew
Religion, Persuasion, Performance, Intimidation, brewer's supplies, cook's utensils
You raise the crew's morale with a well-chosen word or nourishing rations, giving them a boost of energy. After you make the skill check, roll the corresponding support die. This turn, the reserve crew can take extra actions, effectively giving the Bosun a number of extra crewmates to assign tasks equal to the result of the support die.
Scan Enemy
Perception, Investigation, Insight, navigator's tools
You analyse the enemy vessel, noting its bearing, the activities of its crew, and any apparent vulnerabilities. Make the skill check and grant the Gunner the corresponding support die. During the Gunner's turn, they can roll the support die and add the result to each attack roll they make.
Improvise Ammo
You quickly rig improvised ammunition out of the materials you have on hand. The type of ammunition you can make depends on the type of tools you have and are proficient with. After you make the skill check, roll the corresponding support die. You make a number of pieces of ammunition equal to the result of the support die.
• Smith's tools. Cannonball
• Mason's tools. Mangonel stone
• Carpenter's tools, woodcarver's tools. Ballista bolt
• Alchemist's supplies (Special). If you are also proficient in another tool proficiency that would allow you to craft one of the types of mundane ammunition listed above, you can craft one piece of specialized ammunition with a DC 15 alchemist's supplies check.
Supply Run
Survival, Nature, carpenter's tools, woodcarver's tools
You prepare materials for the crew to carry out repairs with, and assist with the effort. Make the skill check and grant the Bosun the corresponding support die. When the Bosun assigns crewmates to repair the ship's hull or weapons this turn, they gain the following bonuses:
• Hull. When assigning crewmates to repair the hull, the Bosun may use the support die in place of a d6 when rolling the hit points restored. For example, if the support die is a d8, each crewmate assigned to repair the hull restores ld8 hit points to it.
• Weapons. When assigning crewmates to repair shipboard weapons, the Bosun adds the result of the support die to the hit points restored to each weapon repaired.
Treat Wounded
Medicine, herbalism kit
You prepare medical supplies to treat the wounded with, and help those that you can. After you make the skill check, roll the corresponding support die. A number of wounded crewmates equal to the result of the support die recover, and can be assigned tasks during the Bosun's or Gunner's turn.
Align the Aether

You draw the intangible flow of energy around your ship into alignment, making it easier for the Spelljammer to work their magic. Make the skill check and grant the Spelljammer the corresponding support die. During the Spelljammer's turn, they can roll the support die and add the result to each spell attack roll they make.

You cast a spell with a casting time of 1 action.
