The Bosun (Or Boatswain) provides technical advice to the captain and crew and leads repair and maintenance efforts. A good bosun has a high Strength score, as well as proficiency with carpenter's tools and the Athetlic skill.
The Bosun takes charge of all crewmates not involved in operating the shipboard weapons, referred to as the reserve crew. On the Bosun's turn, they can issue any number of the following orders, in any order. Each order takes a certain number of crewmates to carry out, and after a crewmate has been assigned to a certain task, they cannot later be assigned to a different one in the same round. 0.
• Repair Hull. The crewmates carry out repairs to the ship's hull. For every crewmate assigned to this task, restore ld6 hit points to the ship's hull.
• Repair Weapons. The crewmates repair a disabled shipboard weapon. The number of crewmates required to repair a weapon equals twice the number of actions needed to load, aim, and fire that weapon. A weapon repaired in this way regains half its total hit points.
• Treat Wounded. The crewmates treat the wounded, getting them back in action. For every two crewmates assigned to this task, recover one wounded crewmate.
• Reassign. Crewmates move from the Bosun's command to the Gunner's command. Any number of crewmates can be reassigned, up to the maximum number of unmanned positions on shipboard weapons.
Special Officer Actions

Full Speed Ahead As an action while on deck, the Captain, First mate, or Bosun can exhort the crew or Spelljammer depending on the situation, location, etc, to work harder and drive the ship forward faster. Roll a d6 and multiply the result by 5. Apply the total as a bonus to the ship's speed until the end of the ship's next turn. If the ship is already benefiting from this action's bonus, don't add the bonuses together; the higher bonus applies.
