The Obsidian Aerie
The Obsidian Aerie is the towering mage stronghold of Ziracos, a dark and enigmatic structure build into the cliffside overlooking the Sapphire Sea. Crafted from black volcanic glass and reinforced with ancient enchantments, the tower seems to drink in the light around it, its surface etched with glowing arcane sigils that pulse faintly at night.
The only way into the stronghold is through the air by landing into the structure. Many of the mages use huge flying creatures they call Winged Horrors, with large leathery wings and long beaks.
The Aerie serves as both an arcane academy and the seat of Order of the Black Staff in Ziracos, housing scholars, artificers, and war mages who specialize in shadow magic, divination, and elemental studies. At its peak resides Archmage Kaelthorin Duskwind, a mysterious and calculating figure known for his obsession with unraveling the secrets of the void and forgotten Netherese relics.
Beneath the tower lies the Veiled Archives, a sprawling magical library said to contain forbidden knowledge and volatile artifacts safeguarded for centuries. Access is restricted to only the most trusted of the Aerie’s mages.
Legends persist of the Shadowspire Chamber, a hidden sanctum deep within the Aerie where rituals of immense power are performed—some say at great cost. Citizens of Ziracos often view the Obsidian Aerie with a mix of reverence and fear, knowing the mages within wield knowledge capable of reshaping reality itself.
