Zhuur

Zhuur is a planet that has been radically altered by those who have inhabited it over the aeons. Ancient Akhaale records suggest it was originally a colony of a civilization even more ancient than themselves, and excavating their remnants of the then-molten world is what brought them their in the first place. The planet was later terraformed by the Akhaale, becoming a prosperous world that came to be known as the ‘second capital’.   During the ancient Akhaale civil conflict, the planet was heavily glassed from orbit, and its ecosystem ravaged by biological agents. Despite this, the Zhurite has flourished, taking advantage of the glassed surface to create a vast, alien network. The surface is a twisted mess of orbital fire, dotted with the cube-like nodes of the Zhurite network.

Geography

Orbiting a red M class star, Zhuur is a cold, rocky world. Covered in oceans of methane, it is a foggy planet possessing an atmosphere of mostly nitrogen with small amounts of oxygen, methane, and nitric oxide. It is inhospitable to most carbon-based life, possessing an average temperature of -179c. It is approximately 1.1x the size of earth, with a standard year lasting about 7 earth-years.   Glassed by the Akhaale roughly 10 000 years ago, its surface consists largely of vast fields of glass-like substances. The twisted remains of Akhaale cities can be found dotting the surface, though most of it is now covered with the cube-like nodes of the Zhurite.   Zhuur has no moons, though does possess a large asteroid belt. Akhaale records suggest there was once a moon that was destroyed by an ancient race. The asteroid belt is also littered with the remains of Akhaale vessels.

Fauna & Flora

Most life on Zhuur perished when the planet was orbitally bombarded by the Akhaale. It was once host to a wide variety of silicon based life forms, as well as plant-like flora that fed via chemosynthesis. Biomes still exist deep with in its crust, never bothering to leave their protective homes.   The Zhurite, granted a greater awareness by their former masters, have returned to the surface and have spread across it.
