Explosive Weapon

An explosive weapon generally uses high explosive to project blast and/or fragmentation from a point of detonation. Explosive weapons are relatively simple in design, but their usages and payloads vary greatly depending on the technological sophistication of their creators.

Basic Types of Weapon

  • Bomb: Bombs are the most simplistic type of explosive. While their triggers of detonation vary, they are weapons with little if any propulsion, usually dropped on their target from above, or hidden away as a sort of Mine.
  • Rocket: A rocket is an unguided projectile weapon, usually using some form of onboard propulsion. They appear less common among advanced civilizations due to advances in computing making guidance systems easier to produce. Still, they occur on occasion on infantry, and are cheaper to produce, with particularly large ones used in space known as Torpedoes.
  • Missile: A missile is similar to rocket, with the exception that is has a more guidance systems. Sometimes these are remotely guided by a controller, while others have onboard systems. Space-based ones are also sometimes known as Torpedoes.
