Akhaale Gate
AKX-92 perhaps surpasses even the wonders of the Akhaale that the Eris have discovered so far. Out here, in the empty void of space, is a colossal set of rings, with a radius of 69,911 km. Their existence defies understanding. Were it not for the twisting of light and matter that came in contact with the rings, there wouldn’t be a way to perceive their existence.
That is to say, the rings do not seem to be composed of matter or energy, but of space itself. Probes that attempt to touch the rings find themselves bent along planes parallel to the structure.
One thing the artefact does give off is strange amounts of hyperspace signals. The general shape of them suggest that this is actually an arc-gate of colossal proportions. While the scouts can only make guesses at this time, the range of this gateway is likely far longer than anything the Eris could currently achieve.
If only there was a way to turn it on.
There does seem to some tattered remains of a battle nearby, though most seems to have drifted away. Despite its size, the gateway has no mass by which to attract other objects. Scans suggest the debris is of Akhaale origin. Its likely the Akhaale made use of this gateway at some time, but there’s nothing to suggest how they did so.
