Octarius Lumen
The first to hold the title of Grand Emperor of the Colonial Earth Empire, Octarius was a brillant politician. A staunch Imperialist, Octarius was able to consolidate power slowly throughout the period of unrest in the Mid Rim that plagued the United Republic of Colonies. He was able to leverage his holdings through the House of Stars and his connections with the Republic Intelligence and Military forces in order to stage a proper coup and permenantly change the Republic into a functional Empire.
Octarius' rule saw the end of the regular unrest that had plagued the Republic for over a century. His reign saw a dramatic increase in the military as well as a massive increase in the occupational forces scattered throughout the mid and outer rims. In his waning years, Octarius saw an increasing pressure on his war coffers to the large megacorps that had originally propped him up.
The end of his life also saw Octarius' Imperialists party split into two factions. The absolutists would support Octarius and his heir as their ruler, while the Fourth Column propped up in an effort to to decentralize the empire into powerful fiefdoms.
