Berlin-Class Heavy Cruiser

The Berlin-Class Heavy Cruiser is the Imperial Navy's no frills heavy hitter. It is built purely for space-to-space warfare, and its only benefit to planetside forces are the 12 Magnetic Accelarator Rail Guns and wide array of missile launchers that can glass the surface.
It was requested by imperial naval forces that were getting outgunned by more heavily armed warships in the Terminus Systems, and were tired of throwing wave after wave of fighters or relying on more unreliable paracasual tech from the Harrison Armory weapon platforms. The Berlin-Class is rarely seen without a screening escort of EW destroyers or defensive corvettes.
Berlin-Class cruisers can also serve as flagships for patrol squadrons, usually as an anti-piracy measure along shipping lanes.
