Nanatz

Natz is a popular board game across the galaxy. It is a strategy game that involves capturing the other team/opponent's pieces.

The Board

The board is made up of checkered black and white squares. And is divided between two sides between two players. There are eight board pieces for each player. Pieces can only be placed and moved on black squares.   There are two spaces on either side of the board, that are designated as bases. Each player has spaces that are their own bases. The goal of the game is to capture the opponent's bases or to whittle their pieces down to two.   The cheaper game boards tend to simply be red versus blue or black versus white. More expensive boards are decorated with pretty patterns and fancy inlays, with some even having the game pieces be small statues representing two fighting sides.

Rules

  1) The board starts empty and it is decided who plays first.
2) For each turn players take turns placing a board piece, they can only be placed on their side of the board. The game cannot be started until all pieces are placed.
3) Pieces can only move by moving two spaces horizontally or vertically, or by moving diagonally.
4) Pieces can be captured by landing on them from a horizontal or vertical direction.
5) In order to win one must get their pieces into their opponent's bases or reduce their opponent's pieces down to two.
