Deephunter
If you're careful, you'll come out an envy of the nobles in New Tabbard, if not... well, there's a nice stone that'll have your name on it.
-Penelope Jacell, famed Deephunter, Mercenary, and Assasin (Message applies to all three) talking to a fledgling in the Hollowsin Guild.
Career
Qualifications
One would never assume that someone who simply collects plants and fungi to have such a high requirement for joining, but the Hollowsin Guild takes only the best for a difficult-in-reality gig. Not only is the material being collected, Ashenrot, ridiculously toxic, hard to find, and hard to transport, the jungles in which it is found are no less dangerous. Though straight north of Cattle-Bone there is not so much danger (aside for the aforementioned Ashenrot), to the east you meet Chanadar's Hearth, full of much more dangerous creatures. So, to suit the hefty requirements one must be proficient in wilderness survival, fighting and hunting, tracking, and proper processions when near Ashenrot. But for this, one is rewarded with full coffers for every whim.
Career Progression
In the highly regulated bureaucracy that is the Hollowsin Guild, progressing too high is a difficult task, though one can gain trust. The collecting ward of the guild is by far the least regulated (though it doesn't mean much as the other two are unthinkably regulated) and acts similarly to a mercenary guild and the easiest way to advance is through renown in the guild and proficiency at the work.
Other Benefits
Famously well-paid, Deephunters can make a king's coffer after only a few jobs if properly carried out. One of Cattle-Bone's main exports is the end product of Ashenrot, so paying the people who supply you with it well is not illogical. Being a Deephunter acts much like a freelancer, though you may work every day, it is unnecessary for your high reward which can support a luxurious lifestyle for at least a week. Being a Deephunter in itself does not bring much fame, though your riches does indeed. If one spots a cloaked figure in a tavern around Cattle-Bone, drinking a tremendous amount of dwarven ale or such, it is likely to be a Deephunter. Historically, Deephunters are quite new and economically due to get payed less at some point, though not quite now.
