The Golden City of Aurea
The City on the hill that drained the swamp below, the golden pillar of the Blue Sea. The glory of Ader and the glory of the world emanates from its walls and its temples and palaces.
Excerpt from "History of the Aurean Empire" by historian Publius Entratus Uticanus
Starting out as a small grouping of wooden huts on a hill, Ader Aureus would expand it to a bustling metropolis over the course of his century plus tenure as lord of Aurea. By the time of his passing the city was the richest of the Adian city-states and undisputed ruler, with the title of ruler of Aurea coming with a further title, king of the Adians.
It would over its further decorated history become the most populous city in the world as its leadership turned into empire. A true beacon on a hill, its wealth and extensive public works projects leave it a marvel to behold. Travelers often speak as if the entire city was gilded and especially love to talk up the prominence of the Trio of Temples that adorn the tallest hill, the Temples of Stellis, Caelus, and Ader.
