Carpton
Carpton is a small town on the Salarian Coast which relies on its fishing industry for trade and food. It is a cozy but cold town, with its denizens being very open and kind to outsiders. The guilds of the town are the only exception, with them caring more for securing monopolies than people.
Government
The town is ruled by an elected mayor that collects taxes and is charged with the defense of the town against external threats. The office is not officially in charge of any other matters than defense of the citizens, although the guards do police the town as well for if a citizen violates basic reasonable law.
Defences
The town is protected by a force of 20 guards employed by the mayor in order to protect the town, and are stationed in and around it.
Industry & Trade
The people of this settlement are fishermen who use the abundant carp population in the waters off the coast of the town to make a living. Fish and fish products are their primary exports, and they import many higher quality goods.
Infrastructure
The town has a few farms and mills, but the main piece of infrastructure important to the town is the docks where boats for trade and fishing do business.
Guilds and Factions
The town’s main trade is overseen by the Fisherman’s Guild, which regulates fishing and sales of fish in the town. Fisherman who do not operate underneath the guild tend to have unfortunate accidents happen to their boats, or their nets, or their bodies. The guild takes a portion of profits and is run by a group of retired fisherman who manage it.
Climate
The town lives in a temperate, if slightly cool portion of the coastline where rains and storms are common, but never too strong as to be dangerous on shore.
