Orlog Sýnnr

King Orlog Synnr was the High Chieftain of Yggdrasil during the Saga of the Blind King. Orlog Synnr was a powerful warrior with an imposing figure and stark white pupiless eyes, which gave him the appearance of being blinded and earnt him the name Orlog Synnr, "Blind Fate". Orlog had also been called many other names during his life. During his early adulthood he was known as the Hviturmoro - "White Murder". At some point, he became known in Yamato as Okiuma - "The Great Horse", and finally, those in Theros would come to call him Orlog the Blind, a name which would be carried over to when he became High Chieftan of Yggdrasil.

Personal history

Early Years   Orlog's birth was a mystery, but he was recovered by a travelling warrior by the name of Vashet when he was a baby in a swamp near the village of Vandilvir, as told by Odge Arnson who sometime during the beginnings of the Era of the Blind King was the Thegn of Vindilvir. While the exact reasons of why and how Orlog had come to be in the swamp are unknown, it is known and well documented that in the years since his "recovery", all of Yggdrasil became fertile and enjoyed seasons of stable weather - a precursor to the great fortune which Orlog would bring to the Kingdom during his fruitful albeit eventful reign.   The young Orlog would eventually become friends with Alfheiour Gunnarson, the youngest son of Jarl Gunnar Jorgensen, who in time became the young Orlog's teacher and adoptive father figure. When Jarl Gunnar Jorensen was murdered during the celebration of Alfheiour's coming of age, Orlog would follow and aid Alfheiour on the latter's jouney for revenge against his father's enemies.   Yamato Years   Orlog travelled all Yggdrasil and eventually left her shores for the foreign lands of Yamato, where he found himself in the service of Daimyo Hobuyaki. In his service, Orlog found acceptance for unsettling appearance and prowess in combat which had begun to cause rumors in his homeland of Yggdrasil. Orlog was instrumental in the Battle of Hoda, leading a troop of Ashigaru to victory against the samurai of Daimyo Takeda, despite being thoroughly underequipped and undertrained in comparison.   For his service, Orlog was offered a retainer's position in Daimyo Hobuyaki's court. Although Orlog declined the generous offer, he remained in Daimyo Hobuyaki's court where he would marry Kikuya Sirashi, the daughter of Kikeido Sirashi, a samurai in Hobuyaki's court. The two men would prove to be unable to see eye to eye, and in a declaration of honour lost, Kikeido Sirashi woud demand a duel with Orlog. Orlog would win the duel handily, but in sparing the samurai's life, he also earned the ire of Hobuyaki, who felt the young Drasillar had gained too much power and popularity.   During the evening, in the early months of the Year of Bloodied Blossoms, Orlog and the heavily pregnant Kikuya were attacked in an attempted assassination in the Yoshiwara district. Kikuya died from her grevious wounds and at the request of her dying breaths, Orlog escaped Yamato, instead of seeking revenge.   Theros Years   Sometime during the events of the Medusean War, Orlog reunited with Vashet who too had continued wandering the world. It is uncertain how Vashet and Orlog became involved with the Medusean War, but when the blade made its final strike, Vashet and Orlog were standing by the Empress as she lay dying on her throne. Having learnt the treachery of the Empress, Orlog raced home to Yggdrasil top defend the homeland which he had not seen for decades.   Return to Yggdrasil   Orlog and Georgio with his myrmidons arrived on the black sands of Svagler Bay after the Empress, having been waylaid significantly by her powerful abilities. Despite the overwhelming numbers, Orlog fought with Georgio's myrmidons against the sieging forces that had broken into the Citadel. In a final desperate battle, Orlog fought his way to the throne hall where he eventually defeated the Empress, but not before High Chieftan Alfheiour Gunnarson was struck down. Alfheiour was heirless, and before the two remaining Jarls present, Alfheiour declared Orlog the new High Chieftan and subsequently passed away from his wounds, ushering in the events commonly known as the Saga of the Blind King.   High Chieftan of Yggdrasil   Yggdrasil prospered greatly during Orlog's reign, benefitting greatly from Orlog's actions in Theros. Despite the pain the High Chieftan suffered in Yamato, he maintained an amicable relationship with the Yamato Islands.   Lord of the South Conflict   The Dragon Emperor Ascendancy   Never Winter Crisis   Death
