The Ziephyr is a slim bipedal marsupial with its appearance similar to that of a kangaroo, and a mobility style very similar of bouncing. However these lunges are backed up with powerful back legs, which has made the Ziephyr in the running for one of the fastest mounts out there. It has long ears, with the tips having a colourful combination of neon colors. The front of its legs are covered in colourful armoured plates, as well as having long, sharp claws. It also has colourful spikes protruding from its forehead as well as its back, several deer-like markings are shown on some parts of its body. Large amounts of fur are seen on its chest, head and on the tip of its long tail.
The Ziephyr are pack creatures, they're stronger in numbers but well off on their own most of the time. They use their strong legs to kick/claw/fight to fend off predators. The spell 'Zephyr Strike' was named after these creatures; dropping the 'i' which slightly changes the pronounciation. They are popular symbolism when talking about the far off exotic land of Haplio'xan as these creatures are considered the national animal of Haplio'xan.
There are farmers and ranchers that harvest the fur, and platings when they fall off of these creatures to create beautiful clothing from their byproducts. The plating on a Ziephyr is flexible, like cartiledge, and can be worked down into some pretty impressive armor.
The Ziephyr carries its children in a pouch similar to other Marsupials. Unlike its kangaroo cousin, the Ziephyr is a scavenger, and is easily able to eat and digest everything from pieces of bark in hard times, to decomposing carcasses. They are one of the few creatures who is not bothered by most humanoid-meant food. They are a huge sizeclass creature.
One of the favorite passtimes in Haplio'xan involves Ziephyr racing. They have spread from Haplio'xan to an invasive species in Premura, and are commonly farmed there as well.
