Plains Lions, otherwise known as Marshians, are a large breed of feline with thick manes. The females also have manes, but their manes tend to be shorter. They outside normal lion counterparts in muscle mass, and generally have large sturdy sabers protruding in a pair out the sides of their mouth. Sometimes, these sabers can twist upwards in some populations, giving them minor tusks. Their native lands are Vassalstar, Uscon, and Isuth, with some more hairless looking breeds being noted as being used in the olden days when the kingdom of Aqui was still an active settlement. Since the collapse of Aqui, these variants have been lost, but stable populations have been considered to be spotted roaming the northern lands of Takarez.
Plains Lions are only actively sold for mounthood rarely in the Uscon, but mainly as exports from Isuth. They tend to be anywhere from 20gp-40gp perhaps because of their aggressive natures, the amount of meat you have to feed them, and the fact they are ridiculously hard to train.
Dire Plains lions are rare, but possible, generally coming from a colony of Plains Lions from Vassalstar's far north, where they content with Magehunds for hunting prominance.
