Obsidian Ridgeback Strider

The Obsidian Ridgeback Strider or otherwise known as the Ridgeback is the most common spider related mount in the Underbelly. While many breeds of spiders exist within the Underbelly, the Ridgeback is one of the few that boasts handiability, ease of care, small clutch sizes, and a unwavering dedication that does not include eating their masters.
The Ridgeback for three years of its ten year lifespan, spend its time smaller than a common house cat. In this crucial time they imprint on mother like figures similar to how mammals do. Humanoids can be placed in this position, and as such Ridgebacks have become notorious with being one of the most friendly larger breeds of spiders.
Alongside all that is listed, Ridgebacks have a notoroiously small stomach and do not seek out much in the way of susistence often, choosing instead to biologically enter into fasting periods to keep themselves slim and mobile to naturally out pace their competitors and predators in nature, the Brute Whip Spiders.
At any given time nobles will tend to own three or four of these individual spiders pulling their carts, or riding them saddle style with specically made equipment to do so. They however despite all these pros, are not that strong, and can only hold one person at most or several children to ride upon them.
