Domesticated by Goblin Tribes first, and then exploited by Orcish tribes, Goblin Hounds are a large type of scavenger that used to hunt the barren wastes of old Vassalstar. They were used by Goblins as mounts on behalf of their foul smell that has been related to a damp acidic smell, warding off most predators in the region. Because of their foul smell, they are best only kept outside of settlements, as they have a tendancy to 'trail' this smell where they walk, that other predators, such as Magehunds can pick up on and follow.
With a naturally acidic bite, Goblin Hounds, sometimes referred to a Gobbos are aggressive, and have the ability to ingest rotten meat, which allows for them to live off Goblin and Orc scraps quite efficiently. They do not have a preference of taste for any type of rotting food waste, and will simply take what they can get. Their extremely potent stomach acid is usually the main component in acids all over the world as they tend to be harvested on commercial scales in places like Izaius'Cu, and sold to criminals at a ridiculously low fee.
