Taking on a physical appearance reminiscent of a gleaming chess piece or white or black with sapphire blue or golden embellishments, Gnosis typically reside within the Diviner's body. They can either be forcefully removed through the powers of another divine entity, or willfully materialized and given away by the Diviner themselves. A Diviner's lifesource is tied directly to their Gnosis, and destruction of the Gnosis is certain death.
Diviners do not need Gnosis to use abilities like magic or abilities of supernatural status. That said, Gnosis seem to enhance an Diviner's abilities greatly, and grant them access to a number of other abilities that they need in order to manipulate divine domains. They lose a significant portion of their power after relinquishing the Gnosis. Individuals with 'Divine Sense' can tell when one has a Gnosi in or not, or whether it is active or inactive.
Gnosi in terms of build come in two types; Ichorii, or Abberin. Ichorii have been gifted by the Architects, while Abberin are manufactured by those unworthy. A Abberin Gnosi can 'purify' into a Ichorii Gnosi if blessed by the Rebis.
Gnosi in appearence come in three different varieties; Gold, Blue, or Marbled. Gold means people of good heart and values, that will aid against the forces of Shi, if pressed. Blue are evil through and through, and trying to reason with them is a lost cause. Marbled are a odd and recent spotting, of being gold and blue mixed together. They are for individuals who could 'Go Either Way' depending on what forces influence them.
In each Gnosi there is a open spot for a micro Essence Crystal. This attunes your godly powers to a certain power set. These fragile gemstones are created from the Dreamlandic 'Essence Pools' condensed by the Twinsi entity known as Dyvynyty. The only time where the domain you choose is bound to the essence crystal, and essence crystals can get 'rejected' is if one chooses for their domain to be an element. Like the god of 'Fire', would naturally need to gravitate to the Igno Essence Crystal.
Lastly, the overall shape of the Gnosi takes up one of several different forms, based after the conventional chess pieces, in addition to a set of new chess pieces. Generally these chess pieces are said to do something with the life, personality, and skills of the individual. The only king pieces in existence are the Rebis & What would be known as Akuji; or the 'False Rebis'.
The one who decides on the pieces is the 'Chess Master' or 'Dyvynyty' or the 'Ego' of Fate. Fate & Alim both claim that they don't know what determines the piece exactly.
