Drakeweight Horses are a type of horse that bear large feathered wings and horns. In ancient times, they were salvaged creatures, spoils of war by the Taardrathi. They were won during Angelic wars, and a stable population was brought back to the Uscon, the Taardrathi's former residency grounds. When the humans dominated, with the lands too came the livestock, and as such Drakeweights became the national symbol for the humans.
Both for their resilency and beauty. Of course, they have diluted some bloodlines by crossbreeding them back to horses, which cause them to lose their horns and wings, but create pretty stable horses. Only those with true bloodlines will bear the Drakeweight signature crested brow, horns, and wings.
Those with only wings are often referred to as Pegsai Drakeweights, those with only horns, Unicorn Drakeweights, and then finally those with both, Alicorn Drakeweights. Pegsai, Unicorns, and Alicorns however are their own creatures, and are not only different types of Drakeweights. Mind the distinction!
Drakeweight horses are mainly only found within human colonies or around humans, ranging in prices depending on the bloodline from 15GP to 100GP.
